Cavalry Supercorss 2014 in Pangolla

Cavalry Supercross 2014, the premier racing encounter organised by
Sri Lanka Armoured Corps in collaboration with Sri Lanka Autosports
Drivers Association (SLADA) will be held in Pangolla, Kurunegala on June
8.
The Cavalry Supercross is a major event in the national motor racing
and riding calendar which will be held for the fifth consecutive year.
This year's race includes 23 events which is to be attended by over 150
leading local racing drivers and racing riders including several popular
foreign drivers and riders.
Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corpse Major General
Milinda Peiris addressing a special press briefing said that more than
80% of the specially designed Ironside Track in Pangolla sited on an
embankment of the picturesque Deduru Oya is visible to the spectators.
The track will have two additional jumps to test the skills of the
competitors more than the machines. Also two of the corners out four
have specially been designed to test the drivers skills.
The funds raised through the Cavalry Supercorss will be utilised for
the well being of the Armoured Corps soldiers who were injured in the
battle against terrorism during the past three decades, the Major
General said.
Addressing the gathering President SLADA Yoga Perera said that it is
a pleasure to hold this event in order to uplift the motor sport as well
as to support the army. |
