BoC presents cash awards to Ran Kekulu account holders

Schoolchildren who passed the Grade five scholarship examination - 2013 in Ampara district schools and account holders of the Bank of Ceylon (BoC) Ran Kekulu children's savings account were awarded cash gifts of Rs. 10,000 by the bank recently.

The ceremony was held at the Akkaraipattu branch of the Bank of Ceylon.

Twenty-two students, principals, teachers, parents, Akkaraipattu Branch Manager M. A. M. A. Nazeer, Assistant Manager I. M. Munawwer, Eastern Province Assistant General Manager's office, Senior Manager M. I. Nowfel, Ampara Area Manager J. G. Priyantha Kumara, Akkaraipattu Traders Association President M. M. Liyakathali were also present.

Area Manager Priyantha Kumara said the assistance of the bank was invaluable to students of Grade 5, GCE Advanced Level and Ordinary Level. Today, parents take a keen interest in the education of their children and have realised the value of the scholarships.
