Dear children,
This week we celebrate an important Buddhist festival- Poson which is
the day on which Buddhism was brought to Sri Lanka. The Poson story is
published elsewhere in our pages. Environment Day was also celebrated on
June 5 to create awareness about the environment. If we take care of the
environment without cutting down trees and do our bit to safeguard the
environment it will benefit future generations. Our surroundings are of
paramount importance and everyone of us must pay special attention and
take care of it. We should not waste water and pollute waterways because
water is important for us. We need water for cooking, cleaning and to
quench our thirst. If we waste water and pollute the environment very
soon we will pay the price for it.
Bye for now,
Aunty Merle. |
