Divyanjali 2014 at NYSC

Lal Thilakarathna and the Dancers' Guild will present Divyanjali 2014 at the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) Maharagama on June 12 at 6 pm.

The young team of dancers led by renowned dancer, Lal Thilakarathna will present several numbers of traditional dancing items ranging from Kandyan, Sabaragamuwa to low country. The show will also bring together several well-known drummers and dancers of Sri Lanka.

Thilakarathna, a renowned traditional dancer who has performed in over 50 countries representing Sri Lanka on special occasions directs the entire show.

Thilakarathna said the forthcoming show will also be the venue for felicitating 11 leading dancers and drummers in the country.

"They have contributed immensely to the field of dancing; but they perhaps have not given due recognition in the field.

Therefore, we, together, with the Panibharatha Foundation will take this opportunity to felicitate them for their valuable contributions to this field, Thilakarathna said. Among the artistes who will be felicitated on the occasion are K. G. Udayapriya Kumara, Ajith Janashantha Perera, Chandrasiri Hangarapitiya, Susuntha Rupathilaka, Samantha Chandrasiri, Prasanna Rupathilaka, Jananath Warakagoda, D.V. Yohan Punchinilame, D.V.A.N. Dhanawardhana Nilame, K.M. Priyantha Kusumsiri and H.H. Priyantha Karunarathne.

Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga and the Provincial Council member Roger Senevirathne will be present.
