Ministry expands counselling services

The Ministry of Child Development and Women's Affairs has made arrangements to expand its counselling services for orphaned children and widows, victims of child abuse and women who have undergone various types of harassments to all parts of the country. The objective of this is to promote positive thinking and to make their distressed minds happy and peaceful for a better future.

The Ministry would offer required guidance and instructions to them to stand on their own feet economically, socially with proper understanding.

The Minister Tissa Karalliyadda told "Sunday Observer" that 220 graduates have been recruited to offer counselling services and they would be employed covering all 25 administrative districts in the island.

They would be deployed at all Divisional Secretariats and Divisional Secretaries have to use their valuable services as required.
