Senior journalist appointed All Island JP and Sworn Translator

Senior journalist and Associate Editor of the Sunday Observer R. S. Karunaratne took his oaths as an All Island Justice of the Peace and a Sworn Translator before the Panadura District Judge Krishanthi Amaratunga on Wednesday.

Karunaratne holds a Bachelor's (Special) degree in Mass Communication from the University of Kelaniya and a Diploma in Psychology (UK). He is the author of Tenth Parliament (ANCL), Once Upon a Time (Godage), In the Land of Nowhere (Sooriya), Who's Who in Literature (Prabha), The Invisible Host (Sooriya), Vignettes on Life (Sarasavi), Folk Tales of Sri Lanka (Sooriya) and Vignettes of Life (Stamford Lake).

He was a Visiting Lecturer in Journalism at Kelaniya University and the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. He was also a Visiting Lecturer in English at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
