Sri Lanka cricketers richly rewarded for deeds of the past

Sri Lanka Cricket granted a sum of Rs.300,000 for 14 past cricketers for their personal expenses in appreciation for the services to cricket in the country during the pre -Test era . The picture shows twelve of the past fourteen cricketers who were present at the occasion posing for a photograph. The notable absentees were Berie Wijesinha and Amitha de Costa. The others from left are Daya Sahabandu, Nihal Kodituwakku, D.P.de Silva, Dr.H.I.K.Fernando, Muttiah Devarajah, Lasantha Rodrigo, Stanley de Alwis, Stanley Jayasinghe, A.C.M.Lafir, T.B.Kehelgamuwa, G.S.M . Razick and Russel Hamer. Bertie Wijesingha and Amitha de Costa too, were recipients of the cash award.
