Missing MH 370 hunt: Australia probes mysterious underwater sound

June 7 CNCTV

The Australian searchers are now investigating an underwater sound that could possibly give an insight into the crucial final moments of the Malaysia Airlines 370 plane that disappeared three months ago.

The low frequency sound is being studied by the researchers from Curtin University to ascertain whether it was emitted after the plane crashed into the waters or was due to the impact of explosion, . However, the sound could have been emitted due to natural reasons as well, the report stated. The University released the audio clip on Wednesday even as the hunt for the missing plane continued in the Indian Ocean.

According to the researchers at Curtin University, the sound reportedly came from an area thousands of kilometers from the current search location.

Meanwhile, a British woman sailor, Katherine Tee, has claimed that she might have spotted the missing plane while sailing in the Indian Ocean with her husband. She alleged seeing a plane on fire crossing the night sky, trailing a plume of black smoke behind it, Huffington Post reported. Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, travelling to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur, went missing on March 8 with 239 people on board.
