Upul Tharanga recalled to Test squad
Upul Tharanga has been recalled to the Sri Lanka Test squad for the
two-match series against South Africa due to begin in Galle on July 16.
Tharanga, who was also included in the Sri Lanka 16-man squad for the
first two ODIs, was appointed captain of the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team which
will be touring England this week.
However, the left-hander has been included to fill the vacated
opening slot in the two Tests as regular opener Dimuth Karunaratne has
been omitted. Paceman Nuwan Pradeep, who was injured during the recent
Super 4s, Twenty20 tournament, has been replaced by Ajantha Mendis.
