Jayantha de Silva heads SLASSCOM

The President and CEO of IFS, Sri Lanka, Jayantha de Silva was
appointed Chairman of the Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service
Companies (SLASSCOM) at the Annual General Meeting last week. De Silva
holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Systems from the University of
Washington DC. He is also a Fellow of BCS and Chartered IT Practitioner
(CITP).
SLASSCOM is the national chamber for the IT-BPM industry in Sri
Lanka. De Silva was also appointed as a Board Member for the Information
and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) recently. ICTA
is the single apex body involved in ICT policy and direction for the
nation.
de Silva outlining his ideas to enhance the IT and BPM industry said,
"Conceptual designing, agileness and adaptability to circumstances are
key areas that matter and we in Sri Lanka are good at that."
"Sri Lanka abounds with youth who have a firm focus in the field and
we need to further enhance their knack of adaptability. Today, SLASSCOM
has transformed the IT and BPM industry from an informal set up to an
industry with a matured standing," he said. "SLASSCOM will work closely
with ICTA and other stakeholders.
The industry has seen a remarkable revenue growth of 238% since
2007," de Silva said. |
