Over 4,000 foreign students receive higher education in Sri Lanka

Over 4,000 foreign students are following degree courses at Sri Lanka's state universities and other private academic institutions awarding university degrees. Some of them are following degree courses under scholarships and some undergraduates are studying paying money.

These foreign students have come to Sri Lanka for higher studies from countries such as Japan, China, Middle East, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. It is a pride to Sri Lanka in all respects to testify the higher quality of educational standards that are maintained at universities in Sri Lanka” said the Minister of Higher Education S.B. Dissanayake at a Conference of university lecturers held recently at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, Kuliyapitiya.
