Hanguranketa Esala perahera festival from August 25 - September 10
Esala Perahera (the procession of Esala) of historical Hanguranketa
Ancient Vishnu Devalaya will be held from August 25 to September 10
under the patronage of Devalaya Basnayake Nilame Abeetha Ratnayake. All
night Pirith Chanting will be held today.
The Perahera is starting tomorrow (25) with the procession of Ethul
Perahera which starts on 7.10 pm. Procession will be held daily until
August 30.
Kumbal Perahera will be parading in the streets from August 31 to
September 04. The Randoli Perahera will be held from September 05.
Final evening Randoli Perahera will be parading the street on
September 09. Water cutting ceremony and day Perahera will be held on
September 10.
