Second ODI moved to Hambantota

The second One Day International between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, which was scheduled to be played at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on August 27 (Wednesday), has been shifted to the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Hambantota, Sri Lanka Cricket announced yesterday.

Due to the prevailing bad weather condition in Colombo, SLC took this decision following on a request by the National Curator . “This decision was taken on a request from the National Curator where he had confirmed that the ground will not be fit to play the 2nd ODI in Colombo on August 27, 2014. Due to the continuous bad weather condition the ground is soggy and the pitch is not in good playing condition since it has been covered for the last few days. 3 days of sunshine will be needed to bring back the ground to a normal condition,” according to SLC media release.

This decision has been consented by the two teams and the host broadcaster Ten Sports as well.

The tickets purchased for the Colombo game will be valid for the Hambantota game, all unutilized tickets will be refunded by Sri Lanka Cricket from September 2 to September 10, 2014 between 9 am and 4 pm, SLC further stated.
