'Asia Micro Finance Forum' ends on positive note

The Asia Micro Finance Forum, a much sought after event of the Micro
Finance Industry of Asia concluded in Shanghai recently with over 500
delegates from more than 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and USA
taking part.
The event was organised by the 'Banking With The Poor Network' (BWTP),
an Asia based micro finance network.
The forum was spearheaded by the Chairman of the Banking With The
Poor Network, Chandula Abeywickrema.
Abeywickrema is also the CEO and MD of the CCC Solutions, a
subsidiary of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. This is the fourth time
the event was held under his leadership. The first was held in Beijing,
China, while the others were held in Hanoi, Vietnam and in Colombo in
2010.
He was also one of the keynote speakers, along with two of the global
greats in the microfinance industry, the founder and chairman of BRAC
Bank, Sir Fazle Hasan Abed and the Global Director of Citi Bank for
Microfinance and Community Development, Bob Annibale. |
