Revelations Academy creates history
Two students of the Revelations Academy, Shyalina Muthumudalige and
Sashyani Rodrigo, were awarded the highest marks ever awarded to
students for Solo Drama at the recent Sri Lanka Festival for the
Performing Arts - Speech Festival, conducted by the Institute of Music,
Speech and Speaking Skills.

With the patron being the British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, it
is affiliated to the British International Federation of Festivals for
Music, Dance and Speech of which Queen Elizabeth is the patron. The
Revelations Academy of Performing Arts and Creativity also took top
honours in prose reading, Shakespeare solo, solo drama and group drama
at the same festival. All Island winners from the Academy were Maanasi
Jayawardene for Bible Reading, Sanudha Perera for Shakespeare Solo and
Drama Solo, and Shyalina Muthumudalige for Drama Solo. The Junior Drama
Group also became All Island Winners.
Representing the Revelations Academy, Shyalina Muthumudalige and
Sanudha Perera were selected to perform at the Best Performance Ceremony
which concluded the Speech Festival, not only rewarding the hard work
and talent of the students but also throwing light on the expertise of
the teachers - Thelma Jayaratnam and Krishan Jayaratnam.
At the final ceremony, Shyalina Muthumudalige was awarded the award
for the 'Overall Best Dramatic Performance' while Sanudha Perera
clinched the award for the 'Overall Most Promising Junior Performance'.
