Joint action plan for national unity

The Bakeer Markar Centre for National Unity and the Sarvodaya jointly organised a workshop on building National Unity, recently in Colombo.

The workshop and discussions primarily focused on creating an activity based plan of action to create positive awareness and tackle religious and ethnic tensions that are prevalent in the society at present.

Many religious leaders representing all religions including Ven. Prof. Kotapitiye Rahula Thera and Ven. Baddegama Samitha Thera, representatives from the media, civil society representatives, key corporate leaders and youth activists also attended the event. Following the discussions, Sarvodaya and Bakeer Markar Centre intend publish a document containing the action points agreed at the workshop to be implemented with diverse partners across all sectors in the future.
