Following a request of the father of a
child suffering from diabetes to be treated in Sri Lanka,
during First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa's visit to the
Seychelles in June, the child was admitted to the Lady
Ridgeway Children's Hospital. The child, Mo Mo, who was
cured met the First Lady at President's House and thanked
her before her departure last week. The child's father and
sister were also present.

Office equipment was distributed among
the Nuwara Eliya district “Front offices” recently at Nuwara
Eliya District Secretariat auditorium under the Patronage of
Minister of Public Management Reforms, Navin Dissanayake.
Here Minister presents office equipment among the officers
of Agrarian service centres. Additional Secretary to the
Ministry Shirani Weerakoon was also present.
The Annual General Meeting of the
Gemmological Association of the University of Moratuwa was
held at the Wilpattu National Park, Maradankaduwa,
Wananiwahana recently with the patronage of Senior Lecturer,
Earth Resource Engineering Dept. Prof. P.G.R. Dharmaratna,
Prof. N. Munasinghe, President S. Baratha Perera and
Secretary Janaka Hemachandra.
A differently-abled young girl who had
completed a vocational training course at the Ragama
Rehabilitation Hospital was presented a sewing machine by
the Kalutara District Secretary, U.D.C. Jayalal. Kalutara
Divisional Secretary Wimal Gunathunga and Additional
District Secretary Sirisoma Lokuwithana were also present.
