Ananda clinch Under-15 Division One title

Ananda College 'A' Colombo emerged champion of the 'Singer Trophy'
Under 15 division One inter school cricket tournament yesterday by
beating St. Sebastian's College 'A' Moratuwa by five wickets in the
final, which was played at the R. Premadasa International Cricket
stadium Colombo yesterday.

This tournament was conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket
Association and sponsored by Singer Sri Lanka PLC.
St. Sebastian's Moratuwa 'A' won the toss and elected to batted
first. They scored 210 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. Nuwanindu
Fernando scored 50 runs in 79 deliveries with seven boundaries.
Nuwanindu and Nishitha Abilash (41) were involved in a 70 run stand for
first wicket.. Manthila Wijeratne scored an unbeaten 41 runs in 38
deliveries. Daminda Roshan and Lakshitha Amarasekara took two wickets
each.
Ananda 'A' scored 212 runs for 5 wickets in 47.4 overs. Shamal
Hirushan scored 65 runs in 91 deliveries with eight boundaries and a
six.
Asel Sigera scored 62 runs in 90 deliveries with five boundaries and
a six. Sigera and Hirushan put on 78 runs for the third wicket. Skiper
Lahiru Hiranya scored an unbeaten 28 runs. Nuwanindu Fernando took two
wickets.
Asel Sigera of Ananda was adjudged the man of the final.
