I'm happy now

October 1 is Children's Day. Today we carry a story commemorating it. This story gives you an idea how a little girl overcomes her sadness and lived happily ever after.

"Life without my father and mother is horrible. I wish that God could have taken me along with them on that day," thought Eesha. Eesha was just 13. She was bought up by her aunt after her parents passed away in an accident. Her aunt was a harsh and stern woman. She had two children just like Eesha but she ill-treated Eesha.

There were scars all over her body. It seemed like whatever she did was wrong and deserved to be punished. She has been knocked over furniture, chained to a tree, hit because something happened and her aunt figured that it was all her fault.

Eesha recalled the times she spent with her parents. "How lovely it was and there is no one in this world to replace the love and care of your own parents," thought Eesha. "Why should God make me suffer like this?" she questioned herself.

As a girl of 13, she was not given the things which other girls of her age enjoyed. Eesha was not sent to school, she was not provided with good clothes and tasty food. She was not given toys to play with. She loved dolls and watched other children play with their dolls with tears pouring down her cheeks. Eesha's life was becoming a nightmare. Day by day life became worse and bitter.

One fine day, Eesha was seated under the tree outside the garden after doing many household chores from dawn. She was feeling so tired. Her legs were swollen and her palms were red and rough. She was watching children playing outside.

All of a sudden a middle aged couple walked towards her and they lovingly tapped her head and said, "What a cute child is she." "They seemed to be so loving and kind," thought Eesha. It reminded her of her parents.

They questioned Eesha as to what she was doing and where she was from. Eesha narrated her story to them as she was waiting to share her sadness with someone. She felt relieved after speaking to them. The couple felt so sorry for her. They decided to adopt her.

"Would you like to come along with us. We will look after you well. You can trust us my dear," said the woman. The couple had all the luxuries in life except a child which they valued a lot.

Eesha was happy to go with them. She was taken to a big and beautiful house. They gave her all the facilities.

They showed love, care and affection which she always longed for. She felt as if she was back with her parents. Her adopted parents bought her beautiful clothes and a beautiful pink doll. Each day she went to bed hugging her lovable doll.

She liked it a lot. In the evenings she played with her doll and she was sent to school too. She was treated like a little princess. Eesha's days now were beautiful and bright.

She loved her new parents. She considered them as her own parents and they too considered her as their own child.

"I should be dead by now with the things that were done to me. I truly believe it is because of God that I am still alive and I am thankful to my new parents," thought Eesha.
