Haj festival tomorrow

The All Ceylon Jemmiyathul Ulema, officials of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs, Sharia Council, theologians, katheebs and trustees of jummah mosques, thakkiyas Zavias and Memon Hanafi Jummah Mosque at a meeting held in Colombo Grand Mosque at September 25, decided that the first day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah 1435 commenced from the evening of Friday, September 26, as no reliable evidence of the sighting of the New Moon was received in the evening of Thursday, September 25 in any part of the island.

Therefore, it was decided to complete the month of Dhul Qaa'dha as 30 days and accordingly, the Haj festival will be celebrated tomorrow.
