Lanka Hospitals completes 600 kidney transplants
The Lanka Hospitals Kidney Care Centre has completed over 600 kidney
transplants since its inception in 2002. Due to the quality of service
offered by the centre, demand has been increasing and last year saw the
centre perform 99 transplants.
CEO, Lanka Hospitals, Dr. Lakith Peiris said, "Our timely investment

a patient as old as 74 and a patient as young as three. This further
reinforces the professionalism and the competency of the centre," Dr.
Peiris said.
The Kidney Transplant Unit at the Centre has a multi-disciplinary
team comprising a transplant surgeon, anesthetist, urologist and
nephrologists.
The centre performs kidney transplants regularly for pediatric and
elderly patients, and adhering to laparoscopic techniques for donor
surgery and handling complicated second and third time re-transplants.

best medical and nursing care from trained consultants, nurses and
