Philanthropists assist bright and needy students

Over 125 students from low income families who passed the Grade Five Scholarship Examination - 2014 in Kurunegala district have been selected to be assisted in their higher studies.

These students are from remote schools and their parents are casual labourers. Kurunegala District Govt. Pensioners' Association will offer each student with a cash donation of Rs. 25,000. Several philanthropist in Kurunegala have consented to provide funds for same.

The Deputy President of the Association A.M. Dhanapala told Sunday Observer that these clever primary students would be very bright intellectual for the country in future. This community project would be continued in the coming years too with the patronage of Philanthropist and well-wishers as a social service.
