Dhanuska Wijesinghe and Dimagi Ramanayake - outstanding boys and girls TT players

TABLE TENNIS: Dhanuska Wijesinghe of Kingswood College and Dimagi Ramanayake of Kandy Girls High School were adjudged as most outstanding players boys and girls respectively at the central province table tennis championship 2014 organised by the Kandy District Table Tennis Association and worked off at the Jagath Rajapaksa International Table Tennis Stadium at Ganegoda off Peradeniya.

Over 40 schools and 500 paddlers participated in this championship which was worked off for the Thomas Kershaw challenge trophy.

Boys under 8 singles:

Vihanga Gimhana Perera (Dharmaraja College) beat Varuna Abeyratne (Dharmaraja College) 2-0 12/10, 11/6.

Girls under 8 Singles:

Dimangi Ramanayake (Girls High School) beat Samini Ratwatte (Girls High School) 2-0 11/9, 11/5.

Boys under 10 Singles:

Dhanushka Wijesinghe (Kingswood College) beat K.R.M. Rasheed (Kingswood College 2-0, 12/10, 11/5.

Girls under 10 Singles:

Tharani Galagoda (Hillwood College) beat Kavini Malakapola (Hillwood College) 2-0, 14/12, 13/11.

Boys under 12 Singles:

Chandupa Alahakoon (Kingswood College) beat Savinda Tennakoon (Dharmaraja College) 3/2, 11/9, 9/11, 7/11, 11/2, 11/9.

Girls under 12 singles:

Dimithi Dissanayake (Mahamaya Gilrs College) beat Poojani Wittachi (Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy) 3/1, 11/9, 6/11, 11/4, 11/7.

Boys under 15 singles:

P.D.U. Tennakoon (Dharmaraja College) beat Chathura Gunasekera (Sussex College) 3-0, 11/6, 11/6, 11/5.

Girls under 15 singles :

Sheshala Bandara (Mahamaya Girls College) beat Ochini Dissanayake (Mahamaya Girls College) 3-0, 11/6, 11/6, 11/6.

Boys under 18 Singles:

Udaya Ranasinghe (Vidyartha College) beat Prasad de Silva (Vidyartha College/ 3/2, 6/11, 11/7, 11/9, 6/11, 11/7.

Girls under 18 singles:

Praveena Silva (Girls High School) beat Sheshala Bandara (Maha Maya Girls College) 3/1, 11/9, 11/6, 6/11, 11/7.

Open Mens Singles:

Udaya Ranasinghe (Vidyartha College) beat Nirmala Jayasinghe (MAS Holdings).
