Laksetha from Lankaputhra Development Bank
Lankaputhra Development Bank (LDB) has introduced the Laksetha
Savings account and the Laksetha Fixed Deposit for senior citizens to
mark International Children's Day and Elders Day which fell on October
1.
The Laksetha Savings Account offers an attractive interest rate and
vouchers for health benefits depending on the balance in the account. In
addition, the account holder can issue standing orders to elders homes
and charitable organisations free.
A Laksetha Fixed Deposit can be opened by depositing a minimum of Rs
100,000. A high interest rate is offered and 90% of the deposit value
could be obtained as instant loan. The deposits are fully protected as
the Bank is a government-owned development bank.
Lakmuthu Diriya Udana and Lakmuthu Children's savings accounts were
launched by the bank to inculcate the savings habit among children and
an account can be opened by depositing a minimum of Rs 100.
According to the balance in the account the children get attractive
gifts. Account holders could also get discount cards to purchase books
from Sarasavi and Godage Bookshops.Lakmuthu Diriya Udana school savings
program will be held at selected schools as a social responsibility
project. Under this program, encouraging parents and children to save,
supporting the schools and developing the skills of the students will be
undertaken by the bank. On October 1, branch managers conducted
awareness programs at selected schools to mark World Children's Day. |
