Kelani Cables supports Northern electricians
Kelani Cables PLC regularly conducts the Kelani Visura program, to
train apprentices and technicians in wiring and electrical systems,
throughout the island as a CSR initiative. Two such programs were
conducted at Gnanam Hotel in Jaffna and the Nellie Hotel in Vavuniya
recently. About 250 electricians were present.

The latest methods and techniques used in developed countries on
laying wires in electrical systems are taught to apprentices and
technicians.
The programs in Jaffana and Vavuniya were conducted by Anopradeepan
of the National Vocational Authority.
Kelani Cables reached the milestone of training 15,000 technicians in
2013.
The company has done a yeomen service to the nation by conducting
training programs for budding electrical technicians in Kilinochchi,
Jaffna, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Kalmunai, Ampara and
Moneragala.
Kelani Cables, Brand Development Manager Channa Jayasinghe said the
company treats the CSR program as an investment for the benefit of the
new breed of electrical technicians.
"We selected Jaffna and Vavuniya for Kelani Visura workshops as
construction work is going on apace in these areas."
