English language teacher for each Mahindodaya school

The Ministry of Education will recruit 1,000 teacher assistants to teach the English Language at Mahindodaya schools in the country. These teacher assistants would be selected from those who have passed the GCE (A/L) Examination.

Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena has already sought the approval of the Ministry of Finance in this regard.

"The objective of this is to improve the oral communication skills among students.

Since all Mahindodaya schools are equipped with language laboratories, this proposed program would be more effective," said Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena at an opening ceremony of a Mahindodaya Technological laboratory at Bingiriya Central College in Kurunegala recently.
