Global Hand Washing Day celebrated

Global Hand Washing Day which falls on October 15 was celebrated at Rambukwella Junior School in Udadumbara with 70 students from five schools in Udadumbara Education Divisio.

The aim of the function was to make students aware of the need to wash hands to avoid epidemic outbreak.

On the occasion of Global Hand washing day Public Health Inspector (P.H.I.) in Udadumbara said that most of the communicable diseases are caused by hands and many people lose lives untimely without knowledge that hands should be kept clean.

He said that most parents do not persuade their children to wash their hands with soap before they have meals. In addition the students participated in an awareness walk too carrying placards with the messages for rights to health.
