B'caloa progress reviewed

The Deputy Minister Muththu Sivalingam presided over a meeting following a request by Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa to review the progress of the Batticaloa district developmental work-2014.

This took place at Batticaloa district secretariat recently. The Deputy Minister ordered the relevant authorities to use the funds allocated for the projects before December 31 2014. On the 2122 projects earmarked for Batticaloa, only 856 have been completed. The District Planning Director said that of Rs. 1,347.2 million allocated only Rs. 856 million had been spent.
