Sri Lanka in two good wins over Kazakhstan and Malaysia
The Sri Lanka rugby sevens team entered quarter-final of the Cup
Championship of the final leg of the Asian Sevens Rugby Series in
Beijing yesterday with good wins over Kazakhstan 31-12 and Malaysia
26-10 in the preliminary round matches.
In the first match, the Lankans scored a superb 31 points (three
goals, two tries) to 12 (one goal, one try) win over Kazakhstan and
followed it up with another good win over Malaysia by 26 points (three
goals, one try) to 10 (two tries).
Now the Lankans will meet Philippines in the quarter-final on Sunday
at 10.14 in Beijing time.
The Sri Lankans finished fourth in the first two legs played in Hong
Kong and Malaysia. |
