Forum on oil and gas industry
The PIM Alumni, the professionals association of the Postgraduate
Institute of Management, affiliated to the University of Sri
Jayewardenepura has organised a forum to discuss the future of the oil
and gas industry in Sri Lanka.
This discussion will be of importance to the Sri Lankan corporate
sector, industrial establishments, corporate enterprises, investors and
for the Sri Lankan citizens who are interested in furthering their
knowledge in this sector.
The exploration and the eventual growth of this most valuable energy
sector will be of immense benefit to economic development and to the
citizens of Sri Lanka. The potential deposits of oil particularly in the
northern basin of the Sri Lankan shore has been identified with positive
evidence by some of the recognised oil exploring institutions around the
world.
The keynote speaker at the event will be Saliya Wickremasuriya, a
reputed petroleum engineer in the oil and gas industry with worldwide
experience and presently serves as the Director General of the Petroleum
Research Development Secretariat of Sri Lanka.
The event will be moderated by Chairman, National Development
Bank.Chartered Engineer Sunil Wijesinghe.
The distinguished panel members will include the Additional General
Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board, Eng M C Wickramasekara and and
senior faculty member of the University of Moratuwa, Prof Saman Bandara,
The forum will be held on Tuesday at the PIM Auditorium, No 28,
