AC honoured with Award of Excellence

Deputy Editor of Sunday Observer, A.C. de Silva, who had also served as a cricket umpire and the live wire behind the success story of Observer Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year since its inauguration in 1979 was presented the Award of Excellence at the last awards show.

As the head of the Sunday Observer Sports Desk, he had rendered a yeoman service towards the success of the Observer Schoolboy Cricketer contest, as well as to promote the game in his dedicated four decades of service. Here the Minster of Mass Media and Information, Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella presents the prestigious Award of Excellence to A.C. de Silva, the senior most sports journalist in Sri Lanka today. Kamal Wijesuriya (Senior DGM), Abhaya Amaradasa (GM ANCL), and veteran media personality and Chairman ANCL Bandula Padmakumara look on.
