SLFBC fetes French Economic Counsellor
The Sri Lanka-France Business Council (SLFBC) of the Ceylon Chamber
of Commerce recently organised a reception for the new French Economic
Counsellor to Sri Lanka, Hugues Reydet.
SLFBC President Dilipan Tyagrajah said that Reydet had predominantly
worked as an Economic counsellor and had been assigned to Asia several
times over the past few years. Some of his previous postings were in
China, Bangkok, Pakistan and countries such as Brazil and UK.
Hugues Reydet was appointed Economic Counsellor at the French Embassy
in Colombo in September. Reydet said he was pleased to be back in the
Asian region. He said he looks forward to working with the Business
Council and assisting the Sri Lankan and French business community to
increase trade and commercial activity.
French Ambassador Jean-Paul Monchau expressed positive views
regarding the country's economic growth, social development and
conducive atmosphere for investment which creates ample opportunities
for both nations to promote business relationships.
The networking evening was attended by over 65 members.
The SLFBC was set up in 2004 to promote trade, tourism, investment
and services between Sri Lanka and France. |
