2014 GCE (O/L) examination from December 9-18

The GCE (O/L) examination-2014 will be held from December 9-18 this year. Five hundred and seventy thousand and eighty four candidates will sit the examination and the preparation of question papers is now in progress.

Tough measures would be taken against the candidates who violate the rules and regulations of the Examination Department and special investigation teams would be deployed countrywide to make regular and sudden visits to the examination centres.

The Commissioner General of Examinations W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara has instructed all school heads on the importance of ensuring decent behaviour and discipline of school candidates at examination centres.

However, results of the candidates would be suspended or withheld if they are found to have violated rules and regulations. Around 150 candidates who had violated examination rules last year had to be penalised, said Senior Director of Education R.M. Alagiyawanna in Kurunegala at a seminar of school heads of the Kurunegala district held recently.
