NICs for 100,000 by November 30

The Department of Registration of Persons will issue 100,000 NICs to those who don't have them. Those who don't have NICs should apply for NICs through their Grama Niladharis on or before November 30. The Department has instructed all 331 Divisional Secretariat on this program and it is believed that nearly 100,000 persons without who don't have NICs at present.

"This program will be carried out before the forthcoming Presidential Elections and all Grama Niladharis should give priority to this matter as residents undergo various hardships due to lack of NICs at banks, government offices and police stations.
