Pakistan helps landslide victims

The High Commissioner of Pakistan, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Qasim Qureshi and the staff of the High Commission express their deep sympathy and grief on the tragic loss of life and property caused by the recent landslide in Badulla District.

The Government of Pakistan is abreast with the situation and is actively considering the requirements put forward by the Sri Lankan Government. Gen. Raheel Sharif, Chief of Pakistan Army Staff too had a telephonic conversation with his counterpart Lt. Gen. Daya Ratnayake to express his sympathy and to assess the assistance required by Sri Lanka.

It is expected that relief goods will be airlifted from Pakistan to Sri Lanka shortly.
