Indian amusement industry delegation visits Lanka

A 15-member delegation of Indian Association of Amusement Parks and
Industries (IAAPI) visited Sri Lanka last week to explore the
possibility of setting up amusement, theme and water parks, film
academies, film production units and consultancy work in the country.
The visit was organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
IAAPI, an apex body for amusement, theme and water parks, leisure and
entertainment centres in India has around 300 members.
They met local businessmen involved in infrastructure development,
real estate, hospitality, resort chains, amusement and the entertainment
industry at the Chamber premises in Nawam Mawatha,
The Indian team also met officials from the local tourism industry,
the BOI and other government institutions.
President of IAAPI, Yogesh Dange, who headed the delegation, said,
"Tourism is the core growth sector of Sri Lanka and developing an
amusement park industry will complement this growth." |
