NCE participates in Seychelles food and hotel exhibition
Members of the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE)
participated at the Food and Hotel Seychelles 2014 exhibition in Mahe,
Seychelles recently.
Over 50 companies from various categories such as food and beverages,
catering equipment and services, furniture and tableware, health,
leisure and entertainment took part.
While some of the companies were from Seychelles and India, over 90%
of the participants were from Sri Lanka.
The main objective of the exhibition was to facilitate trade between
the exhibitors from Sri Lanka offering products and services needed by
world-class resorts and the hotel industry of the Seychelles.
There are 400 hotels in the Seychelles and the country is also the
main point of transit to the African sub-continent.
The exhibition provided Sri Lankan exporters the opportunity not only
to enter the Seychelles market but also to seek opportunities in
neighbouring countries such as Madagascar and Mauritius.
The event also served as a platform for local and international food
and hotel suppliers to meet resort personnel on a one-on-one basis.
