Rs. 180m for paddy cultivation in Udadumbara

A large number of farmers in Udadumbara are immensely benefited with the finance assistance provided for them under the Economic Development Ministry to commence the Mahakanna paddy cultivation.

Specially to buy seed paddy. Fifty four lakhs were given to 1,500 farmers of Dambagahapitiya in Udadumbara for the Mahakanna out of allocated 180 million at Dambagahapitiya by the Chief Minister of the central province Sarath Ekanayake.

The Minister said that no government in the past gave such a relief to the farmers like this and he believes that the farmers will gain a good harvest with this assistance in future. The chairman of Udadumbara Pradeshiya Saba Senarath Bandara Haliyala and the research sub assistant H.M.K.B. Herath were present on the occasion.
