Boy dies in tractor mishap

A four-year-old boy seated on the lap of a youth who drove a two-wheel tractor fell to his death in Urigama, Anamduwa yesterday morning, police said. The victim, Gihan Lakshitha Dissanayake was taking a ride on the tractor driven by an 18-year-old youth who did not even possess a driving licence. The tractor had toppled in the middle of the road and the boy was crushed to death.

The boy's mother and uncle were following the tractor at the time of the accident. Anamaduwa Police took the youth into custody along with the vehicle. - KK
