CRC and CME rowing champions

CME Rowing Club of India emerged men’s champions while Colombo Rowing
Club clinched the women’s overall championship at the 73rd ARAE/FEARA
International Regatta worked off at the Beira Lake, Colombo yesterday.
CME clinched the men’s title by winning the Pair and Double. They
also emerged runners-up in Four for an overall tally of 36 points.
Colombo Rowing Club who had the honour of winning the Four compring of
Dilshan Pitiyaratchi, Ashan Pitiaratchi, Sriwanth Kotelawala and Buddima
Wickramaratne. They also came second in the Scull and Pair to obtain an
overall tally of 29 points. Finishing in third position in the men’s
championship was College of Engineering, Pune with nine points.
Colombo Rowing Club, which made a clean sweep by winning Scull, Pair,
Double and Four, emerged champions of the ladies events with overall
aggregrate of 38 points. The CRC crew comprise of Isabella Sansoni,
Amani Tissera, Ishika de Silva and Subashini Kularatne came first in the
Four event. Janethri Marapana and Samaakhya Gajanayake teamed up to win
the Double. Janethri Marapana and Dilki Wijesekara rowed together to win
the Pairs event while Samaakhya Gajanayake won the Scull. Finishing in
second position with 18 points in this tournament was Karachi Boat Club.
