Shadows disappear for a moment!

On March 21, the sun was directly over the equator, because of the tilt and rotation of the earth's axis.

For nearly 12 days - from April 4 to April 16, the sun was overhead in our country precisely at noon.

I was on a tour down South and realized the sun was overhead in Tissamaharama on the noon of April 5. I was aware of this phenomenon and came to the ‘Mahinda Rajapaksa National Tele-Cinema Park’ in Ranminitenna, Tissamaharama and showed the phenomenon of ‘Disappearing shadows for a moment’ to senior citizens gathered there.

I propose the most suitable day to celebrate our Sooriya Mangalyaya, is the day the sun comes overhead in Sri Jayawardenapura, Kotte, the capital city of Sri Lanka.
