Another lacklustre montage

‘The safe haven’ by the American best-selling author Nicholas Sparks'
romantic montage which was also adopted into a movie, released on the
Valentine’s Day to magnify the lure among fans. the movie, stars
Julianne Hough, and Josh Duhamel.it has been criticized for its flat
generation of the romantic bond which fails to create any sort of
empathy in the minds of viewers.
It
has also been condemned for its irregular and poor casting as other
Sparks movies such as the notebook (which is considered the best
Nicholas Sparks movie so far) had a mix of talented young actors such as
Ryan Goshling and Rachael Mcadams together experienced pioneers of the
trade.
However, personally I believe the actors did as much justice to their
roles as they could in this visually unmemorable direction.
It does, however, have one sentimental revelation at the end which
demonstrates sparks sharp storytelling skills. Overall; if I say
lacklustre directing, pretty The story is about a young lady named Katie
who was abused by her detective husband making her run away to a small
town, to be away from abuse and torture, later falls in love with a
widowed shop owner who lives with his children.
The
story develops as Katie attempts to erase her dark past as she bonds
with the man of her dreams. Well pretty
much a typical sparks novel with references to damaged people,
military, small towns and cancer.
Katie who was completely violated and broken by her husband
immediately falls in love with a total stranger who creeps into her
garden in the middle of the night and stalks her while she walks around
the town. Well this might confuse the reader as to the real essence of
‘eternal love’ as discussed throughout the book. Further it fuels the
misconception painted by most modern love stories such as twilight that
‘a woman would never be safe without the warm of a man, however messed
up or crazy he maybe’.
This is a pathetic stereotype which seems to be consuming a
generation girls. Don’t get me wrong, true love exists, but the constant
rattling around the rustic concept of eternal love, rendering all other
natural aspects of life unreal, maybe quite old school.
Apart from the theme of love, this story also contains an element of
danger and how it may effect various individuals in life which,
according to the author is the aspect of the novel that makes it unique
from his other works, even though ‘the guardian’(another one of his
works) had the same concept engraved in it. |
