Taurus
 Beginning
this week we are taking a journey into the world of star signs and
secrets, that will peel a few layers of the mystery that’s you and
perhaps give you a sneak peek at what you are all about. And since we
are cruising through April we begin with Taurus. And just for some
piffle, the bull that personifies the sign is based on the Cretan Bull,
the white bull that fathered the Minotaur and was killed by Theseus.

Taurus is all about pleasure
People born under this sign love comfort, material goods and the good
life in all its forms. They love tactile fabrics that feel good against
the skin, like velvet, velour and satin. They are also artistic people
who appreciate good art, and sometimes create it themselves. Taurus
girls love to make their rooms pretty, and they are drawn to beautiful
things outside the home as well.
Taurus people are practical and persistent by nature. They will work
hard to get the job done, mostly because they are excited about getting
a reward at the end! People like working with Taureans because these
folks are reliable and patient and they will see a project through to
the end. They are also fairly conservative and they avoid taking risks.
However, Taurus people can also be terribly stubborn and they are
almost impossible to budge when they think they are right about
something (even if they're not). When they get angry, they will throw
temper-tantrums and be very argumentative.
Books
Taurus has a patient nature and can enjoy reading long novels or
stories that require attention to detail and a good attention span, like
complicated suspense thrillers, like ‘The Da Vinci Code’, or fantasy
sagas such as ‘The Lord of the Rings’or the ‘Narnia’ stories. Mystery is
a genre that appeals to the Taurus, both by modern authors and classic
mystery tales by the likes of Agatha Christie. Taurus people also like
factual stories and will enjoy well-written non-fiction.
Chocolate
How does a Taurus enjoy chocolate? Taurus will buy two boxes of
chocolates and eat them all, except the ones they don't want... which
they will thoughtfully leave for a friend.
Colour
Taurus' astrological colour is green.
Green the color of life and renewal. This color is found in abundance
in nature, and is a very calming color to humans for that reason.
Green is healing and sympathetic. It also represents the Taurean
traits of steadfast loyalty, and restrained emotions. On the color
wheel, green balances the positive yellow and the negative blue. This
balance may be what makes green such a soothing shade.
When a Taurus person in particular surrounds him/herself with green
in his/her environment, it reduces stress and restless movement. For
this reason, it is an excellent colour for a Taurean's bedroom and/or
study area. Wearing green can also help a Taurus to feel centered and
confident, especially on a date or at a party. In ancient Egypt, green
symbolised life, growth, and rebirth. It was the opposite of black, the
colour of death. Green is a good antidote to sad or depressed feelings
for those born under the sign of Taurus.
Food
Taurus has a sweet tooth, so chocolate, marshmallows, and other sweet
treats are definite faves. Herbs that add sweetness to other foods, such
as cinnamon and nutmeg, are also big winners. Taurus people also enjoy
hearty foods with flavors of parsley and mint, such as lamb chops with
mint jelly and Italian pesto pasta dishes. In general, Taurus people
aren't that hot for fast food, because they like to enjoy a full,
flavorful meal with nourishing, wholesome ingredients. If a Taurus goes
to a fast food restaurant, they should look for something like chili, to
get that feeling of home-cooked food.
