BOC Ran Kekulu Grade 5 Scholarship Awards-2015

Encouraging high-flyers at the Grade 5 scholarship examination BOC Ran kekulu offered 2000 scholarships worth of Rs.10,000/- each.

The main scholarship awards ceremony was held at Kurunegala Maliyadewa Balika Vidyalaya recently with the participation of over 200 scholarship holders and their parents.

Similarly eight other awards ceremonies were organized covering all nine provinces of the country.

2000 students who have made themselves eligible by maintaining a Rs.2500/- balance in their Ran Kekulu account on or before the examination date and obtained the required level of results at the 2014 scholarship examination received this award at the ceremony. "BOC Ran Kekulu is one of the prime savings accounts the bank has offered to youngsters of the country.

The bank focuses on securing a child's future financially through savings building.

We are pleased to see that we have continuously taken up this scholarship programme since 2002 for 13 years awarding over 12600 scholarships worth of Rs.126 Million."

Stated Deputy General Manager Province Sales Management G.L.P Jinasoma. Benefits of the accounts are not limited to mere gift schemes that come along with the deposits made to the account.

Ran Kekulu accounts always carry an additional 1% above the normal rate.

This account is also linked with free life insurance cover for the parent or guardian to a maximum of Rs.500,000/- (minimum balance of Rs.5000/- should be maintained for a period of six months or more prior to the incident).

Any parent or guardian who opens Ran Kekulu accounts for more than one child will be covered up to a maximum of Rs. One Million.

The child will also get a free medical insurance cover up to Rs.100,000/- per annum in the event of an accident or 10 specified critical illnesses requiring hospitalization for more than three nights (minimum balance of Rs.5000/- should be maintained for a period of six months prior to the incident/illness)
