Tiger Woods braced for 'busy' summer

Former world number one Tiger Woods has revealed his upcoming schedule of events, describing the five-tournament stretch as a "busy summer".

Woods, who will start just his fourth event of 2015 in next week's Players Championship, wrote on Twitter: "See you at the US Open, Open Champ, Memorial, Greenbrier and my Foundation's event, the Quicken Loans National. Going to be a busy summer."The 39-year-old is currently ranked 116th in the world and would have to be inside the top 50 on either July 27 or August 3 to qualify for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone, an event he has won eight times.

The 14-time major winner made no mention of the US PGA Championship at Whistling Straits which takes place the following week.Woods shot a career-worst round of 82 to miss the cut in the Phoenix Open and withdrew after 11 holes of the Farmers Insurance Open due to injury, but returned to action by finishing in a tie for 17th at the Masters in April.
