Tiger Woods braced for 'busy' summer
Former world number one Tiger Woods has revealed his upcoming
schedule of events, describing the five-tournament stretch as a "busy
summer".
Woods, who will start just his fourth event of 2015 in next week's
Players Championship, wrote on Twitter: "See you at the US Open, Open
Champ, Memorial, Greenbrier and my Foundation's event, the Quicken Loans
National. Going to be a busy summer."The 39-year-old is currently ranked
116th in the world and would have to be inside the top 50 on either July
27 or August 3 to qualify for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at
Firestone, an event he has won eight times.
The 14-time major winner made no mention of the US PGA Championship
at Whistling Straits which takes place the following week.Woods shot a
career-worst round of 82 to miss the cut in the Phoenix Open and
withdrew after 11 holes of the Farmers Insurance Open due to injury, but
returned to action by finishing in a tie for 17th at the Masters in
