LDB conducts social service programs

Lankaputhra Development Bank (LDB) completed several social service
programs during the first quarter of this year. Among them, the
Tambuttegama health clinic and Wennappuwa blood donation program stand
out.
The medical clinic organised by the Lankaputhra Development Bank,
Kandy branch covered the Eppawela, Purigaswewa and Neelabemma areas in
the Mahaweli 'L' Zone and drew over 1,000 people. Blood and urine
testing was done to identify the kidney patients commonly found in the
area and medical advice was given to them.
A special clinic focusing on eye care and children's diseases was
also held. Several leading Government doctors and members of the board
of directors of the bank were also present. LDB has set up branches in
Colombo, Hambantota, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, Kegalle, Wennappuwa, Batticaloa
and Trincomalee. The management hopes to open LDB branches in the
Tambuttegama and Bandarawela in the future.
LDB provides attractive interest rates for savings and a high
interest rate for senior citizens' fixed deposits.
In addition to this, the Bank also offers microfinance loans,
interest-free payments, pawning services, Sandaliya savings account for
women and Shasthree higher educational loan scheme designed for students
interested in pursuing graduate, post graduate, academic and
professional studies locally in internationally-recognised educational
institutes. |
