Marawila - Paramour stabbed to death

A murder has been reported from Dukkannawa in the Marawila police area on Friday.

Liyana Lekamlage Lionel Ratnayake, aged 54 from the Marawila police area was allegedly stabbed to death by Ajith Kumara(44) whose wife is said to be having a relationship with the victim.

The victim had gone to meet his paramour after consuming liquor and on that fateful day Ajith Kumara had come home earlier than usual and found him in a compromising position with his wife.

A verbal battle ensued and Ajith Kumara had stabbed the victim on the chest.

He fell and was unconscious and was found dead on admission to hospital. The suspect was arrested by the Marawila police.

Puttalam - Mother and son sell heroin

Puttalam Police arrested a woman and her son with 395 milligrams of heroin in their possession at Anamaduwa early this week and produced before the Puttalam Magistrate.

Ja-ela- Fatal accident

A motorcyclist travelling to Minuwangoda skidded off the road near the Air Force camp in Ekala and knocked on the bus halt on Friday night at around 11.30pm.

He succumbed to injuries on admission to the Ragama hospital. The victim has been identified as Bastian Gamage Niranjan Jayalath of Unnaruwa, Minuwangoda Borella

Borella Police arrested a person aged 52 years with about 3 grams miligrams of heroin in his possession on Friday night. Police will produce the suspect before Maligakanda Magistrate today.
