Softlogic Finance extends 'Clean Zone' to City Office
Softlogic Finance stepped up efforts to improve awareness of the
importance of garbage segregation and recycling among the public and to
increase the cleanliness of the environment, by extending its flagship
'Clean Zone' community initiative to its City Office at Colombo 2.
Softlogic Finance's City Office at Sri Jinarathana Road, became the
company's third location to join the effort, which eventually envisages
improving the cleanliness of a 100 km roadside extent in the country by
using Softlogic Finance's branch network across the island.
Similar to other locations in which the 'Clean Zone' was launched,
the City Office of Softlogic Finance too would now focus on increasing
awareness on the importance of garbage segregation and recycling by
deploying staff members to educate those in the vicinity by various
means, including distribution of leaflets and by displaying in front of
the branch, separate bins dedicated for the disposal of plastic, bottles
and non-recyclable waste.
The City Office will also seek the assistance of Municipal
authorities in increasing the cleanliness of a 500m roadside extent to
each side of the branch which would be achieved through garbage
collection at more frequent intervals. This would eventually be expanded
to a one km on either side of the branch.
"Considering that our City Office is within Colombo 2 - an important
commercial area visited frequently by a large number of people - it is
ideally placed to contribute to our Clean Zone program," Softlogic
Finance CEO, Nalin Wijekoon said.
"We especially value the commitment of our staff to this effort which
has enabled us to extend the initiative to several locations including
the City Office within less than two month," he said. Following the
launch at Softlogic Finance's Nawala branch in March, the Clean Zone
program was introduced at the Katugasthota branch. |
