Minister approves Lewke’s proposals

The Minister of Sport Navin Dissanayake has approved the
recommendation made by the Chairman National Sports Council Retired
Senior DIG Nimal Lewke the necessary criteria to qualify for the posts
of member of the National Selection Committee or as a National Selector.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the National Sports Council and
retired senior DIG Nimal Lewke to the Sunday Observer.
The recommendations are:
1 Must have represented Sri Lanka in that sport at an International
Level or a former National Champion.
2 A former National or Junior National Coach who has internationally
or nationally trained any top teams/athletes and presently not involved
in coaching
3 Should not be involved in active politics
4 Must follow all the rules and regulations of sports by - Laws.
Nimal Lewke is a double International having represented the country
at both boxing and rugby and was also the National coach for rugby.
