Fonterra marks Dairy Day

Fonterra Brands Sri Lanka held its first ever Dairy Day, to celebrate the goodness of dairy nutrition and National Nutrition Month.

The day was launched through a Facebook competition and the 13 families who won the competition had the opportunity to see how Anchor Newdale products go from local farms to products on retail shelves.

Managing Director, Fonterra Brands Sri Lanka, Leon Clement said, "We wanted to give consumers a behind the scenes look at how we make dairy products."

The day started at Fonterra's state-of-the-art milk chilling centre in Gampaha. The families then followed the milk from Gampaha to Fonterra's liquid milk processing plant in Biyagama to see how the milk is made into yoghurt and milk products.

They also saw the products being packed and the food safety and quality tests that each batch of product goes through before it is released to be sold in stores nationwide.
